Life Coach
Reports directly to assigned Team Coordinator and/or Program Director
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Experience in the field of developmental disabilities is preferred but not required.
SKILLS NEEDED
Must demonstrate the ability to:
- develop and maintain positive, respectful professional relationships with clients, community, coworkers and supervisor
- maintain flexibility in assigned client, client’s needed support hours and client schedule
- implement effective communication skills, via: verbal, written, email, messenger and text
- lift clients safely and effectively (if needed) per protocol
- maintain confidentiality practices, professional and personal.
- maintain accurate data as defined in the client’s SSP, RMP, SA or IEP in a timely manner
- provide legal (current registration, inspection and fully insured) personal vehicle while on duty in order to facilitate community integration
- support and supervise clients according to individual needs, driven by supporting documentation
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- attend work as scheduled
- maintain knowledge of and adhere to LTS, LLC policies and procedures
- effectively communicate with supervisor and utilize agency chain of command
- maintain clear professional boundaries with co-workers, clients, guardians and contracting agency
- attend and participate in employee and team meetings and all mandatory in-service trainings as scheduled
- represent clients and agency in a professional manner at all times
- maintain cleanliness of program areas according to agency policy and procedure and applicable regulations
- assure the safety and well-being of the clients at all times
- demonstrate compliance with client rights and dignity of interactions
- read, respond to and maintain communication logs, if applicable
- serve as a positive role model for clients and others
- follow daily activities specified for each clients’ schedule
- appropriately implement behavior support plans, RMP’s and/or any client specific protocols, if applicable
- maintain proper documentation of any financial transaction(s) made with client’s funds, if applicable
- follow required medical policies and procedures outlined in the agency handbook
- maintain in agency personnel file a copy of valid driver’s license, a copy of personal vehicle registration and insurance as defined in the employee handbook
- Instruct, model and assist clients to gain knowledge and skills with all goals and objectives identified by the IEP and/or SA
- Dress appropriately and accordingly to the activities and schedule of the client.
- Maintaining professionalism at all times, to clients, employers, school, volunteer sites and community members
- Other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel
